There's no place like home...

Home_sweet_homeI'm all moved in to my new place.  I just have a few odds and ends to pick up @ my old place and a little cleaning to do.  Once that's sorted in the morning, I'll be just about done.  Everything is almost in it's right place...  Just need some hangers to hang things and some food in the refrigerator then I'll be just about set.  HUGE thanks to my dad and mom who came through and helped me out today.  I wouldnt have been able to do it without them.  THEY ROCK!!

Now, I'm a bit sleepy and in dire need of a shower.  Perhaps I'll take a bath and relax in my pretty new bathroom...  :)

Better luck next year...

A_bettis2_412 Well, it has to be said...  Pittsburgh just played a better game today.  I was sad to see Denver lose but the Steelers deserved the win.  Now that the Seahawks have won, I'm sure it will be an exciting game...  (would've been better with Denver, though).

I started sorting through things this weekend.  Incase you didn't know, I'm moving...again.  As much as I hate packing (something I havent started, yet), I do love the idea of throwing away items I don't need and making a fresh start.  My move in date is this Saturday, with mom and dad coming over to help me with the big items.  Hopefully I'll get to move in kitchen items, clothes, etc. throughout the week.  I'll be sure to post about the move next week to give all of my puppyhugging readers a good laugh.

It's off to bed for this little puppy hugger.  I'll be rising at 6 to run for an hour or so.  Goodnight, my dears.

Denver Favored to Win the Super Bowl

Denver_broncos I normally don't post about sports on hugapuppy unless it involves me beating every guy in my Fantasy Football league to win the championship trophy however, the recent football weekend and the excitement surrounding the upcoming Super Bowl requires me to do so.

I was riding high on Saturday night as the Denver Broncos came thru with a win to defeat the New England Patriots and advance to the AFC Championship game next Sunday.  The question on all Bronco fans' minds today: Who will we play?  We were all certain it would be the Indianapolis Colts, not the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Colts have had a stellar season and Peyton Manning seemed unstoppable.  I was crossing my fingers and wishing on stars that the Broncos would play the Steelers next weekend because they would get home field advantage and have a huge chance at advancing to the Super Bowl.  I must've been wishing on the right star because in what was a fight to the end, the Steelers pulled it out and defeated the the Colts.  UNBELIEVABLE!  I would have bet money that the Colts were going to be the Super Bowl champs and I would have lost.

Next weekend is going to be quite exciting...  The Broncos will be playing the Steelers in Denver and they are currently a 4-point pick over the Steelers!  I came across this article today and thought I'd pass it on to my loyal puppyhuggers.

Win and Indy loss makes Broncos the new Super Bowl favorites

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BRONCOS!!!!

Give until it hurts...

Loveon4paws I've been researching some children's charities around the country to give a monthly donation to.  There are so many amazing charities out there...  Make-A-Wish, Children's Hospital LA, St. Jude's, Love Letter.   All of these are focused on helping children who are not well... whether they have cancer, various ailments, or a terminal illness.  In doing my research, I came across a charity called "Love on 4 Paws".  This charity is an animal assited therapy program that allows handlers to bring their dogs, cats, turtles and other animals to assist in the therapy of sick patients.  It looks like most of the animals brought to see the patients are puppy dogs.  Talk about excellent therapy.  That kind of therapy would bring a smile to my face in less than two shakes!

Check out the Love on 4 Paws website for yourself and check out the smiles on everyone's faces.  It's true...  hugging a puppy does make you feel better!

Goooo Horns!!!

Go_horns I'm not a fan of college football but I was happy to see USC (1) lose to University of Texas (2) tonight at the Rose Bowl game by three points.  I went to neither college but growing up in Los Angeles, you get a bit tired of the posh frat boy boring rhetoric that is USC.  I say proudly "Hook 'Em Horns!!!".  Way to knock USC back into reality.  My favorite part of the game... afterwards, interviewing the USC QB Matt Leinart...he still believed that they were a better team...  That's alright Matt.  You just sit back down and consider that thought while Texas gets the trophy.

Also, props to Alli who wore orange in support of her team today.  Way to wear orange in winter, girlie.

Now I lay me down to sleep...

Friends Before I drift off into la-la land with visions of sugarplums in my head (sorry, it's still Christmas to me), I wanted to leave you with this one thought:  Two is better than one.  My Winnie the Pooh blanket says on it "it's so much friendlier with two" and I totally agree with that.

Night night, little puppy huggers.

Warm kindness on a cold, wet day...

Newyears_silly So far, 2006 has started out perfectly wonderful.  Yesterday, Alli and I went to lunch and decided to go Century City AMC to see a movie.  Wow.  Apparently everyone in LA goes to a movie on New Years Day when it's raining.  Century City recently opened their new movie theaters and they are quite nice so I can understand why.  The place was packed and most of the 7ish movies were sold out.  We finally found one, "Rumor Has It", that wasn't sold out!  Hurrah.  We grabbed our tickets, popped into the theater (which has a ginormous line) and found some lovely seats.  The movie was....cute.  Not totally hilarious but it had it's moments and I thought everyone in the movie was pretty good; especially Shirley Maclaine.

On an even happier note, I recently bought a gem of a purchase on ebay but due to the seller's Paypal account being down, I couldn't pay for the item.  This purchase is time sensitive because it's for someone's birthday and the seller JUST emailed me to  let me know that he thinks I'm a trusting and honest person so he's going to send it, without paying him right now, so it can get to it's destination on time.  How lovely is that?  Such a nice fellow.  I'm going to send him some goodies from work as a thank you for being so kind and generous with someone else's time.  That is quite nice.  So far, 2006 is absolutely lovely.  Now if it would just stop raining...  I swear, I think I'm going to need an ark.
